Secure your supply chain and strengthen corporate governance

Ensuring ESG compliance and mitigating risk across your organisation’s supply chain and governance structures

The Challenge

  • Conducting rigorous ESG due diligence across complex supply chains

This involves assessing not just Tier 1 suppliers but mapping risks across the entire value chain, identifying areas where ethical sourcing and responsible procurement may be at risk.

Strengthening ESG compliance in global procurement

Our director, Tim Dee-McCullough, was appointed by a leading aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul business (MRO) to help it prepare for the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive and identify material impacts, risks and opportunities in its value chain. As with most of the aviation sector, the MRO’s supply chain is globally distributed and there can be little visibility beyond the immediate tier.

Tim conducted a comprehensive value chain mapping exercise to identify key risk areas, focusing on emissions, resource efficiency, safety, human rights and compliance with sustainability standards across different regions. By engaging with suppliers, industry stakeholders, and regulatory bodies, he provided clarity on sustainability impacts that extended beyond direct procurement.

Through the double materiality assessment, Tim identified priority areas where sustainability interventions could drive both compliance and operational efficiency. This included strategies for increasing transparency in subcontractor engagements, implementing supplier ESG screening mechanisms, and aligning reporting frameworks with CSRD requirements.

As a result, the MRO was able to enhance its ESG governance framework, improve supplier engagement, and implement a roadmap for long-term sustainability improvements. Tim’s work not only helped the company prepare for CSRD compliance but also positioned it as a leader in sustainable aviation operations.
